does this come with instructions on how to remove to old strut from the from the retract unit. I see something they are calling the jimi screw but I'm not sure how to remove it to get the old strut out and put the new one in i have this part arriving tomorrow. Thanks!

Remove the retract from the plane, there are set screws on the sides of the trunnion,. you may need to use a flashlight to see them in there. Be sure your hex key fits perfectly in it so you don't round the set screw.

Hello, I am having trouble bending the strut wire on landings. Do you have or know of a shock absorbing strut that will replace the oem solid wire strut. At the very least do you know of a source for a strut connector that can be used to install a shock absorbing strut?

Hello Kael, I'm afraid Freewing does not make a shock-absorbing strut for the 1200mm Spitfire.

What is the size of the connecting pin to the retract unit? Length & diameter?

The length is 13 mm, the diameter is 4 mm.

What is the diameter of the actual struts.

Wheel Axle Shaft is 3.5mm. Overall Diameter is 6.5mm

    Soft Material For A Strut

    Tends to bend on most modest landings. Material need to be hardened more during manufacturing. Fortunately relatively easy to straighten while installed on wing if held properly.
